Sources: Clemson is set to hire longtime college head coach Mike Houston to work with the defensive staff there. Houston won an FCS national title as the coach at James Madison and spent six seasons as the head coach at East Carolina.
Houston is a North Carolina native with deep ties in the Carolinas, as he’s been the head coach at The Citadel and Lenoir-Rhyne. He’ll assist new defensive coordinator Tom Allen, who just arrived from Penn State.
Sources: Colin Hitschler is expected to become the new defensive coordinator at James Madison. He's a former assistant coach at Alabama, Wisconsin and Cincinnati. He worked for JMU coach Bob Chesney at Salve Regina in 2011.
