With $6.5 million left on deal, UCLA fires AD Martin Jarmond
UCLA fired athletic director Martin Jarmond on Monday, with chancellor Julio Frenk explaining in a letter to the UCLA community that the Bruins' athletic program "currently carries a significant financial deficit, and its current path is not sustainable."
Martin Jarmond has been dismissed as UCLA's athletic director, sources told ESPN.
He's been there since 2020, when he arrived from Boston College. He's set to be owed the $6.5 million remaining on his contract.
Per ESPN sources, Tim Harris will serve as CEO and AD of UCLA Athletics. He'll work the interim role on a pro bono basis. He's a former Lakers executive.
