Johnson was 28-for-39 passing and Ashton Hollins caught eight passes for 106 yards and a score. Jamarian Samuel, Ty Cummings, and Weston Bryan each scored on the ground.
The Eagles scored touchdowns on each of their first three opening drives in the first quarter to take a 21-0 lead.
Samuel capped off the opening drive with a 7-yard rush, Hollins reeled in a 59-yard scoring grab, and Bryan punched it in from one yard out before the end of the quarter.
The Eagles defense held Charleston Southern to 35 yards of total offense. The Buccaneers had just four drives that lasted longer than four plays.
Tripp Bryant kicked a 32-yard field goal just before halftime and was perfect on all four PATs, and Cummings ran for an 18-yard score in the third.
Charleston Southern threatened to break the shutout with their first trip to the red zone late in the fourth, but freshman Jayden Jackson made an interception to seal the first shutout for the Eagles since 2023.
