Source: UTEP quarterback EJ Colson has won the job as the Miners’ starting quarterback. He’s a transfer from Incarnate Word, where he threw for 2,142 yards, rushed for 287 and accounted for 19 touchdowns. He completed 70.9% of his passes there.
Colson is a former four-star recruit who was ESPN’s No. 11 dual-threat quarterback in 2024. He started his career at UCF, where he played three games, before spending a spring at Purdue. UTEP played road games at Oklahoma and Michigan in September.

Source: Rice is naming UCF/Miami transfer Jacurri Brown as the school’s starting quarterback for the fall. He impressed upon transferring in this spring, as he’s listed at 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds.
He’s emerged as an ideal fit for Rice’s “Gun Choice” offense, which features the quarterback run game. In a career spanning Miami and UCF, he's thrown for 906 yards and rushed for 823. He averages 6.0 yards per carry in his career.
