— Adam Jones ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns as No. 2 Montana State used a season-high 227 rushing yards to end No. 7 Stephen F. Austin’s eight-game winning streak with a 44-28 victory Saturday in an FCS quarterfinal matchup.

After a spate of upsets, there are familiar teams but also some newcomers at the top of the FCS bracket.

— Sam Vidlak passed for a career-high 357 yards, Kylon Harris had 183 yards receiving, and Stephen F. Austin defeated Abilene Chrisitan 41-34 on Saturday in a second-round game of the FCS playoffs.

— Jaylen Jenkins rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns, Sam Vidlak completed nine of his 10 passes for 207 yards and three touchdowns, and Stephen F. Austin rolled to a 62-14 victory over Northwestern State in the 79th meeting between the two rivals.

— Gavin Rutherford and Jerrell Wimbley each had touchdown runs, and Stephen F. Austin jumped out early and beat Lamar 26-15 on Saturday night to clinch at least a share of the Southland Conference title.

— Isaiah Davis caught two touchdown passes, four other players found the end zone, and Stephen F. Austin defeated Houston Christian in a 50-3 rout to stay perfect in Southland Conference play.

— Sam Vidlak threw two touchdown passes, backup quarterback Gavin Rutherford added a touchdown pass and run, and Stephen F. Austin posted a wire-to-wire 41-17 victory over UT Rio Grande Valley on Saturday night.
