Rocco Becht transfers to Penn State, his 'best opportunity'
Former Iowa State standout Rocco Becht, one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the NCAA transfer portal, committed to Penn State, he told ESPN in a phone interview Sunday, a program that will allow him to continue to play for coach Matt Campbell.
Former Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht has committed to Penn State, he tells ESPN. He’ll spend his final college season there. Becht’s 26 career wins as a starter will be the most of any quarterback in college football in 2026.
“Penn State is getting a winner, someone who is competitive and wants to win every game,” Becht told ESPN. “Whatever my stats may be, all I want to do is win. Whatever I have to do for the team.”
Former Arkansas State quarterback Jaylen Raynor has committed to Iowa State, he told ESPN. Raynor has started 36 games and accounted for 9,877 yards of total offense and 67 touchdowns in his career.
Raynor has one season of eligibility remaining. He’ll re-join former Arkansas State OC Keith Heckendorf, who is the new Iowa State QB coach. He’s a key building block as new Cyclones coach Jimmy Rogers deals with a roster overhaul.
