NEWS: Lane Kiffin tells ESPN that he’s been in “daily communication” with the SEC on the potential addition of players who are in state court lawsuits. He said the rule “does not prohibit players from practicing at the school, it prohibits them from being added to the final 105 roster, which has to be turned in on Friday.”
LSU will wait to see what guidance they get from court orders and SEC this week. Kiffin said this morning he will “absolutely follow what he’s told to do.”
When asked if he would follow the SEC’s eligibility rules if the court order is reversed, Kiffin told ESPN emphatically “absolutely,” adding he has been in contact with the SEC on a daily basis.
“All we’re waiting for is clarity this week from the SEC, which they can’t give final clarity until Thursday’s ruling,” Kiffin told ESPN. “We are waiting for final clearance and guidelines from the SEC .. I have been in communication daily with the SEC to make sure we are complying with the SEC rules.”
