The Mountaineers didn't get a ball through the net until Tevin Baskin's layup 40 seconds later. Appalachian State cut the lead to 13-11 on Tommy Spagnolo's 3-pointer with 12:02 left in the half, but the Bearcats took command with a 14-0 run and led by as many as 21 before settling for a 40-21 halftime lead.
