Drmic's double-double helps Boise State rout Nevada 76-57
Drmic made 10 of 18 shots and had a season-high rebound total in helping Boise State (20-10, 11-6 Mountain West) move into sole possession of third place in the conference standings.
Drmic moved into third place on the school's all-time leading scoring list, passing former teammate Derrick Marks. Drmic needs 28 points to pass Tanoka Beard for the top spot. The Broncos have one regular-season game left and then will start conference tournament play next week.
"These senior nights are tough," Boise State coach Leon Rice said. "You're always worried about the emotion, and you hope you and the team can manage it."
James Webb III added 15 points and seven rebounds for the Broncos, who led from start to finish, took advantage of 19 turnovers and overcame 14 giveaways of their own to win their third in a row. Webb, the Broncos' leading scorer, missed Saturday's win with a knee sprain and played with a brace. He logged 23 minutes.
Nevada (18-11, 10-7) fell behind 9-0 and never got closer than four points. Eric Cooper Jr. and Tyron Criswell had 11 points apiece to lead the cold-shooting Wolf Pack. Nevada shot only 38.5 percent and went 1 of 14 from 3-point range in seeing its two-game winning streak snapped. Cameron Oliver added 10 points.
Boise State became the first team to sweep the Wolf Pack in conference play this season. Boise State made 9 of 24 shots from 3-point range, with scoring from seven different players.
"We knew they were a good 3-point shooting team," Nevada coach Eric Musselman said. "You have to give them credit for knocking down 3s. But we missed layups. We made one 3-point shot. You're not going to win when you have 19 turnovers, four assists and you shoot 1 of 14 from 3. The 3-point shooting with this group is shocking."
