No. 9 Butler stays perfect at home with 92-54 win over IUPUI

The Bulldogs (11-1) have won eight straight since a November loss to Miami. They are 7-0 at home this season.

IUPUI (4-11) was led by Darell Combs with 11 points and T.J. Henderson with 10, not nearly enough against Butler's up-tempo offense. The Jaguars have lost five of six and are 0-5 in this series, which began in 1997-98.

Butler never trailed but struggled to take control until using a 13-2 run late in the first half to extend the lead to 19 points.

And after making it 43-24 at halftime, the Bulldogs opened the second half on a 10-0 run to put it away.

It's the fifth time this season Butler has topped the 90-point mark.

Butler overcame a sluggish start to pick up its second-most lopsided victory of the season.

Though it took a while, the Bulldogs eventually made it look easy.

A quick seven-point scoring flurry midway through the first half gave Butler a 22-13 lead.

And when IUPUI couldn't take advantage of Butler's early shooting woes, it was only a matter of time until the Bulldogs pulled away.

A steal by Jones late in the first half led to Tyler Wideman's dunk and after starting the game with four straight errant 3-pointers, Jordan Gathers and Martin combined to make three straight to finish the 13-2 run that made it 41-22.

IUPUI never got close again.

SCORING BIG

Butler has been largely known in the past for running deliberate, effective offense. Not anymore. The Bulldogs entered Monday night's game with the second-highest scoring average in the nation (89.7 points) and ranked No. 11 nationally in scoring margin (plus-19.2 points). Monday night outcome will push those numbers a little higher.
