Trocha-Morelos was one of four Aggies in double figures, making his first six shot attempts in front of a Reed Arena crowd of 5,392. Freshman Tyler Davis led the Aggies with 16 points, while D.J. Hogg and Danuel House had 14 and 13, respectively.

"Everyone complements each other well," said point guard Alex Collins. "We are just having fun right now." Collins had seven points, four assists and two steals.

"I try to do my best," Trocha-Morelos said. "It feels great helping my team and getting the win. It's not just about me, everybody did a great job." The sophomore center has been in double figures all three games this year.

"Throughout his career he's been a kid who picks up fouls early in basketball games," Wilson said of Thomas, also adding that he is a player who can go out and get a double-double. "(He) didn't get a chance to show what he can do tonight. Tonight was one of those nights where we had very little in the first half on the inside."

In the absence of Thomas, Bryce Douvier played 29 minutes and scored 28 points. The Islanders' other three starters combined for just five points on 2-of-12 shooting.

With the early struggles, combined with a hot start from the Aggies, the Islanders found themselves in a 9-0 hole. The team trailed for the entire contest, at one point by as many as 31.

"I really didn't think the first 10 minutes of the game was indicative of who we are," said Wilson. "I didn't really recognize that team. A&M stayed true to their identity and played the game they were supposed to play"

As for the Aggies, they now have three wins in as many games with the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament quickly approaching.

Aggies head coach Billy Kennedy noted a "six-minute lull" during the game in which the Aggies "had some guys on the floor that didn't play well together," that allowed the Islanders to rally a bit. After making the necessary adjustments, the run was stalled.

"They (the Islanders) played with good energy," Kennedy said. "They never stopped playing hard. For (Douvier) to have 28 points, he's a very good player and is a tough matchup for us not having Jalen (Jones)."

Jones served the third game of his four-game suspension on Thursday from an incident occurring while at SMU. He will be eligible to play for the first time this season on Nov. 25 against Texas, the opening game of the Battle 4 Atlantis.
