The Knights (17-14) advance to play top-seeded Wagner (22-9), winners over LIU Brooklyn, in the championship game on Tuesday.
A close game throughout, FDU took a one-point lead with 4:33 to go on Potts' 3-pointer. Darnell Edge's triple a minute later made it a six-point contest.
The Mount got it back to two after a pair of free throws by Junior Robinson with 1:25 left, but Potts hit another 3 the next time down and the Knights held on to advance.
