Robinson's 27 points helps BC beat Dartmouth 88-70
It's showed by his start so far.
Robinson matched his season-high with 27 points to help the Eagles halt a two-game losing skid with an 88-70 non-conference victory over Dartmouth on Saturday.
"I felt like I got a little better at everything," the 6-foot-5 sophomore guard said. "I always feel comfortable."
Robinson was 10 of 16 from the floor, including 4 of 7 on 3-point attempts.
Freshman point guard Ty Graves added 13 points for the Eagles (4-3) and Jordan Chatman had a season-high 12. BC shot 55.7 percent, connecting on 11 of 21 on 3-point attempts.
Evan Boudreaux led Dartmouth (0-6) with 23 points before he was ejected with what the officials determined was a Flagrant 2 foul for whacking BC's Connar Tava in the face while he was shooting with 9:21 left.
"We know they really execute their stuff," Dartmouth coach David McLaughlin said of BC's defense. "We needed to be in certain spots and ended up worrying more about where they were."
Robinson sandwiched a pair of 3-pointers around an alley-oop basket when he scored all eight of BC's points to push the Eagles' lead to 52-41 early in the second half.
BC led 40-33 at halftime.
BIG PICTURE
Dartmouth: The Big Green are off to their worst start since opening 2006-07 with six losses. With the level of play in the Ivy League more consistent to their talent level, they shouldn't look at the non-conference portion of their schedule as an indication of their season.
Boston College: The Eagles bounced back from losses to Kansas State and Richmond at the Barclays Center Classic. They should be able to post a few more wins before it gets a lot tougher in Atlantic Coast Conference play in January.
SETTING AN EXAMPLE
Robinson entered the game third in the ACC in scoring, averaging 19.0 per game.
He went over 20 points for the fourth time in five games, looking, at times, like he could get the basket anytime he wanted. He was also able to use a quick dribble and first step to elude defenders and spot up for a handful of mid-range jumpers.
"Our team moved the ball so well a lot times," Christian said. "He's such a good player that a lot of times he's on the good end if it."
CONTROL
BC won for the 21st time in 29 meetings between the schools, with the first coming in 1905.
