Benzan drives for winner as Holy Cross edges Navy 51-50

Benzan scored five of his 12 points off the bench in the last 1:01, hitting a jumper that pulled the Crusaders to 50-48 and adding a free throw with 11 seconds left to get within a point. After he missed the second free throw, Holy Cross fouled to send Navy's Ryan Pearson to the line.

Pearson missed the front end of the one-and-one, Robert Champion grabbed the defensive rebound and Benzan drove for the winner.

Malachi Alexander led the Crusaders (7-8, 1-1 Patriot League) with 17 points and seven rebounds, while Champion scored 11 points. Champion knotted the game at 27-27 with a 3-pointer early in the second half as Holy Cross made up a six-point gap.

George Kiernan scored a career-high 16 points for Navy (5-9, 0-2).
