Marist slips past Saint Peter's 69-51
Funk was 7 for 11 from the field, missing just three shots from behind the arc, and got all four of his free throws. David Knudsen added 12 points and Tobias Sjoberg had 10 points to go with seven rebounds and four assists for Marist (6-22, 4-12 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference).
Trailing 30-24 at the break, Marist took the lead for good on one of Funk's 3-pointers midway through the second half to go up 43-41 and Sjoberg dropped in a layup to stretch the advantage to four. A 3-pointer from Aleksandar Dozic with 3:21 left made it 59-47 and the Red Foxes led by double figures the rest of the way.
Sam Idowu scored 15 points to lead Saint Peter's (10-17, 4-12) and Nick Griffin had 10.
