Spight scored six points in an 11-2 run and, after back-to-back baskets pulled the Vikings within four, Northern Colorado scored nine in a row to make it 73-60 with eight minutes to play.

PSU scored 18 of the next 24 points to trim its deficit to 79-78 when Derek Brown hit a 3 with 1:59 left, but the Bears closed on a 6-0 to seal it. Portland State went 0 for 2 from the free-throw line, 0 for 1 from the field and committed a turnover in the final 90 seconds.
