Lewis leads Iona over Manhattan 72-60 in MAAC quarterfinal

No. 4 Iona (18-13) will play ninth-seeded Saint Peter's (14-17) in a Sunday semifinal.

Schadrac Casimir added 18 points for the Gaels. Deyshonee Much chipped in seven points and reached 1,000 for his career.

Pauly Paulicap had 16 points and 12 rebounds and Zane Waterman scored 14 with six rebounds for Manhattan (14-17).

Both teams shot less than 38 percent from the floor, but the Gaels made two more 3-pointers and seven more free throws. Iona had 10 steals and forced 15 turnovers.

Iona had a double-digit lead for most of the second half. An 8-2 spurt pulled the Jaspers to 68-60 with 25 seconds left. Much and Lewis each made two free throws to end it.
