Lewis, Banks spark James Madison comeback, 74-65 over Towson
Towson built a 38-28 lead by halftime but Phillips' dunk started a 13-1 rally over the next five minutes and James Madison (9-9, 2/3 Colonial Athletic Association) took a 41-39 lead on a Darius Banks 3-pointer with 15:26 remaining.
Towson (5-13, 1-4) tied three times and stayed within a five points until the Dukes broke away over the final four minutes.
Matt Lewis led with 24 points and Banks added 22 points and 11 rebounds for James Madison. Lewis converted 8 of 9 free throws and Banks 9 of 10 as the Dukes went 24 for 28 at the line thanks to 20 Towson fouls.
Brian Fobbs led the Tigers with 19 points, 11 after halftime. Solomon Uyaelunmo scored 11 before fouling out.
