Julius van Sauers had 12 points and Tyrn Flowers scored 11, but made just 3 of 11 shots from beyond the arc as the Blackbirds shot 31 percent from deep. Flowers opened the scoring with a 3-pointer and the Blackbirds never looked back. Eral Penn's layup in the final minute sent LIU Brooklyn into intermission with a 52-32 lead. The lead remained in double figures throughout the second half.
