Knight’s bucket lifts Southern Utah over Utah Valley 73-72

Brandon Averette had given Utah Valley a 72-71 lead by sinking two free throws with 14 seconds to go before Knight answered for the Thunderbirds (5-4).

Cameron Oluyitan paced Southern Utah with 19 points and seven rebounds. Dwayne Morgan added 15 points, while Maizen Fausett pitched in with 12 points and eight boards. Knight scored 10.

Trey Woodbury scored 19 for the Wolverines (4-7) with six rebounds. TJ Washington scored 14 but had seven of Utah Valley's 16 turnovers. Averette finished with 11 points and five assists.

Southern Utah won despite shooting 34% from the floor. The T-birds made 26 of 32 free throws. Utah Valley shot 47% overall and made 12 of 17 foul shots.
