Kevin Cross scored 17 points, going 5 of 8 and 6 of 6 from the free throw line. Jaylen Forbes shot 5 for 9, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points, while adding three steals.
Duncan Powell led the way for the Hornets (1-3) with 17 points and 13 rebounds. Austin Patterson added 11 points for Sacramento State. Zee Hamoda also had seven points and two steals.
