Raequan Battle led the Mountaineers (8-16, 3-8) with 21 points. Quinn Slazinski totaled 15 points, five rebounds and five assists. Kerr Kriisa made three 3-pointers and scored 13. Nelson had 12 points and Miller scored 10 to help TCU take a 47-35 lead into halftime. West Virginia jumped out to a 10-5 lead, but Miller had a three-point play in a 9-0 run and the Horned Frogs led the rest of the way. Battle had 15 first-half points for the Mountaineers.
Slazinski sank a 3-pointer 4:30 into the second half to get West Virginia within 56-47. Miller answered with a basket and TCU led by double digits the rest of the way.
Dixon has a 156-104 record in his eighth season with TCU. Brannon went 205-259 during his tenure. Tubbs posted a 156-95 mark.
The Mountaineers lead the all-time series 18-6. They have split 12 games in Fort Worth.
TCU visits Kansas State on Saturday. West Virginia plays host to No. 12 Baylor on Saturday.
