Gillman scores 3 times, ties record as Montana defeats Utah Tech 35-14

Gilman tied Charles Roberts of Sacramento State for the Big Sky Conference record with 56 rushing touchdowns while setting the Montana record for total touchdowns with 60.

Gilman capped his day with a 75-yard burst over right tackle to make it 28-0 midway through the fourth quarter. Gilman's earlier scores were 1-yard plunges.

One play after the Trailblazers scored their first points of the season, Dylan Paine went up the middle for a 57-yard score for the Griz.

Ah Yat Keali'i was 25-of-35 passing for 246 yards with a 15-yard touchdown to Lekeldrick Bridges for a 21-0 lead at halftime.

Montana (3-0), ranked third in the Stats Perform FCS poll, piled up 462 yards and Utah Tech (0-3) had 405.

The Trailblazers, blanked 54-0 by defending FCS champion Montana State and 63-0 by BYU, got their first score on a 1-yard run by Bronson Barben and then Barben hit Mike Williams for a 60-yard score.

Utah Tech joined the Big Sky Conference before the season but this game was previously scheduled as a nonconference game.

Up next Utah Tech: Home against Northern Arizona next Saturday.

Montana: The Griz hit the road for the first time, playing up at Oregon State next Saturday.
