— Bryson Washington ran for 135 yards and two touchdowns, Sawyer Robertson threw three TD passes while going over 1,000 yards passing for the season and Baylor finished non-conference...

— Javonte Graves-Billips caught a pair of touchdown passes and had 139 yards receiving and The Citadel beat Samford 40-13 on Saturday in a Southern Conference opener for both teams.

— Owen Dupree returned the second half kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown, Geoffrey Speight had a 54-yard scoop and score in the closing minutes and West Georgia rolled to a 34-3 win over Samford to open the season on Thursday night.

Georgia coach Kirby Smart's father, Sonny, died Saturday morning after suffering complications from hip surgery he underwent following a fall in New Orleans before the Allstate Sugar Bowl.

— Taron Dickens threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns and Western Carolina never trailed in its 47-42 win over Samford on Saturday.

— Quincy Crittendon was 34-of-50 passing for 340 yards and accounted for two touchdowns, D.J. Rias returned a kickoff 100 yards for a score and Samford beat Chattanooga 36-13 Saturday.

— Torin Baker returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in the middle of a three-touchdown burst in 3 1/2 minutes as Tennessee Tech beat Samford 27-7 on Saturday.

— Bryce Corriston and Ryan Ingram scored rushing touchdowns and Wofford ended a nine-game losing streak to Samford, spoiling the Bulldogs' homecoming with a 17-13 win on Saturday.

— Garrison Johnson scored two of The Citadel's four rushing touchdowns on Saturday in a 28-11 win over Samford.
