Harrison has HR, 4 RBIs as Phillies beat White Sox 7-4

Harrison is now 5 for 10 after being mired in a 2-for-12 slump as the Phillies won their second consecutive game. The White Sox lost for the fifth time in their last six.

Nick Castellanos and Harrison had three hits apiece to lead the Phillies' 14-hit attack. Philadelphia has totaled 37 hits in its last two games.

Phillies shortstop Bryson Stott singled to start the game and extend his hitting streak to 17 games, surpassing the franchise record of 16 to start the season set by Puddin’ Head Jones in 1950.

“It’s huge,” Philadelphia manager Rob Thomson said. “Any time you score a couple in the first inning, you kind of put them on their heels a little bit, and we’ve done that the last two games and hopefully we keep it going.”

Gregory Soto, Craig Kimbrel, Seranthony Dominguez and Jose Alvarado struck out eight while retiring all 12 Sox batters to secure the win. Chicago has struck out 39 times in its last four games.

The White Sox got six consecutive hits off Zack Wheeler (1-1) to start the bottom of the third and pull within one. Luis Robert Jr. hit a two-run double, and Andrew Vaughn followed with a two-run single. But Wheeler stranded Vaughn at third and left runners in scoring position in each of the next two innings to qualify for the win.

“My back started tightening up during that long inning,” Wheeler said. “So it was a little bit of a grind, and we figured it out.”

Chicago starter Lance Lynn (0-2) allowed a season-high 10 hits and was pulled after striking out Trea Turner on his 107th pitch in the sixth. Jimmy Lambert got Lynn out of a jam by striking out Brandon Marsh with runners on first and second to end the inning, but Harrison tagged him with his first homer in the seventh.

Alex Bohm hit a two-run single that capped a three-run rally in the first. Philadelphia has scored 12 runs in the first inning of their last two games.

“Everybody’s fine," Lynn said. "You know it’s April, but you know you’ve got to get it moving just to make sure you don’t get too far behind.”

White Sox: 3B Yoan Moncada (low back soreness) might not be ready to be activated from the 10-day injured list when he's eligible Friday, manager Pedro Grifol indicated. ... RHP Joe Kelly (groin) threw a bullpen session Monday. He is eligible to return Monday. ... SS Tim Anderson (left knee strain) performed light jogging but is at least two weeks away from returning. ... RHP Nick Padilla was added as the 27th player for the doubleheader.
