- 0':
Kevin Davies has scored twice in Bolton's run to the semi and will be a key man at Wembley.
- 0': Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic may not start too many Premier League games but he continues to win a place for the FA Cup.
- 0': This is Bolton fourteenth FA Cup semi-final but it is only their second in the last 53 seasons. Stoke last made it to the semis in 1972.
- 0': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Stoke's fans are comfortably the louder of the two groups of supporters and at a sun-drenched Wembley there are patches of spare seats among the Bolton contingent. The Potters win the battle of the terraces.
- 0': The teams are in the tunnel ready to come out and the crowd go wild at a very sunny Wembley Stadium.
- 0': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: An electric atmosphere greets both sets of players as they emerge from the tunnel. Bolton and Stoke fans don't often have a match of this magnitude to enjoy, so they are making the most of it today.
- 1': Bolton get the game underway, a final against Manchester City awaits the winner, kicking from left to right, wearing their white shirts and blue shorts. Stoke don their normal red and white stripes.
- 1': Petrov races down the left to give Wilkinson an early test. The defender is equal to it.
- 2': Knight gives away the first freekick of the game and Pennant will lump the ball into the box for Stoke...
- 2': ...Steinsson heads clear and Bolton pass what will surely be the first of many tests from set pieces.
- 3': A slight variantion form Stoke. the play a quick freekick down the left for Walters. But Jussi (Jaaskelainen) reads it well and comes off his line to clear.
- 4': Apparently Tony Pulis forgot his normal cap today and had to get one from the Wembley press officer... hope it wasn't a lucky hat.
- 5': Petrov takes a Bolton corner. After a scramble it's another corner to Bolton.
- 6': Petrov takes the corner again. Davies causes trouble in the Stoke box and the ball falls to Cahill on the edge of the box but the defender blasts over.
- 7': Huth takes down Elmander, who is playing in midfield again today. Petrov will deliver...
- 8': ...Petrov aims for Davies, who is crowded out by four players. The ball drops to Elmander, who shoots low and hard from 20-yards out but can't beat Sorensen in the Stoke goal.
- 9': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: A predictably stop-start opening to the game, with the ball spending plenty of time in the air. This won't be a festival of football. Certainly if Robert Huth has anything to with with it: he is throwing himself around in typical fashion.
- 10': GOAL Pennant takes the ball down excellently and passes to Etherington, who scores form outside of the box.
- 11': Pennants pass was half cut-out but not cleraed and it rolled to Etherington, who curled his shot past Jussi for a wonderful opening goal.
- 11': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: A superb finish from Matthew Etherington but sloppy from Bolton. The red half of Wembley is delirious.
- 12': Bolton push forward looking for an instant reply but Lee's cross into the box is far too long and Sorensen collects the ball.
- 13': The game has died a little after that goal. Bolton need to regroup.
- 14': Jones wins a flick on but Steinsson has read it and clears the danger for Bolton.
- 15': Delap delivers his first long-throw of the game but Bolton clear it...
- 16': GOAL But only as far as Huth who smashes it straight back at goal and into the bottom corner.
- 17': Huth was lurking on the edge of the box and he controlled the ball well to smash it past a despairing Jussi.
- 18': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Stoke fans are pinching themselves after a quick second. "We're Stoke City, we'll play how we want" they sing, defiantly.
- 19': Elmander has pushed forward a bit more now and is trying to make things happen. Unfortunately the rest of his team-mates look a bit shellshocked.
- 20': Very scrappy in midfield at the moment.
- 21': Robinson gives Davies one to chase. Five years ago he may have got it, but not now.
- 22': Jones is giving Cahill a real aerial work over.
- 23': Muamba steams through two tackles and then gives the ball away very cheaply. Huth then lunges at the Bolton midfielder and the Trotters have a freekick.
- 24': Petrov delivers the freekick and Jones heads over his own bar for a corner.
- 25': Bolton play it short for Lee, who crosses from a slightly different angle but it's the same result - Stoke head clear.
- 26':
Etherington celebrates his opening goal.
- 27': Davies chases down Shawcross, who panics under the pressure and gives away a corner. Petrov takes it, Stoke head clear - a familiar pattern.
- 28': the linesman waves his flag to signal that Davies has run the ball out of play, he quiet clearly hasn't and he's furious.
- 29': GOAL Jones, one on one with Jussi, and he finishes.
- 30': Pennant won the ball on the right, cut inside and then played the ball through to Jones, who was unmarked in the box and slotted the ball into the corner of the net. Terrible defending.
- 31': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Incredible scenes here as Bolton fans begin trudging out for a much-needed half-time refreshment. Bolton shoot themselves in the foot again as Petrov is culpable for being caught in possession.
- 32': Elmander takes possession about 30-yards out and shoots. He stings the hand of Sorensen but was in no danger of scoring.
- 33': Jones cuts in from the right and flashes a shot across the face of goal. It goes wide of the far post.
- 34': Cahill brings the ball out from defence. He gets to the half-way line and throws his hands up in despair as he has nobody to pass to.
- 35': Pennant has been excellent today and once again he beats his man on the flank. But this time his cross isn't up to standard.
- 36': Pennant bamboozles Robinson and then chips the ball to the back post for Jones, who heads his shot into the hands of Jussi.
- 37': Steinsson launches a Delap-like throw into the box but Stoke deal with it easily, as they have with everything Bolton have slung into the area.
- 38': Even the fans have gone quiet now.
- 39': Klasnic loses a tussle with Whelan and then takes revenge with a late tackle. Freekick, but no yellow card.
- 40': Stat: Stoke have won all three visits to Wembley ? 2-1 v Chelsea (1972 League Cup), 1-0 versus Stockport and 2-1 v Bristol City (1992 & 2000 Football League Trophy).
- 41': Petrov runs at Wilkinson, who backs of and the times his tackle perfectly. Bolton just can't get started.
- 42': Klasnics' first touch at the edge of the box is so bad that the ball nearly bounces to the half-way line.
- 43': Etherington heads back to his goalkeeper, who is slightly out of position and the crowd have an excuse to go "ooooo".
- 44': Petrov launches the ball into the box and Stoke clear - repeat ad infinitum
- 45': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Just before the half-time whistle, Tony Pulis feels sufficiently comfortable to wave on demand to the Stoke supporters. If Bolton can get back in this, it will be a miracle.
- 0': HT The ref brings the half to a close and there's plenty of work to be done by Bolton boss Coyle during the break.
- 0': HT Pennant has run Robinson ragged down the right flank and something must be done about that. Also, Bolton have had no joy slinging the ball into the box, yet they continue to do so.
- 0': HT As for Stoke, they will want more of the same from their lacklustre opponents.
- 0':
Stoke's Matthew Etherington scores the opening goal.
- 45': A double change for Bolton. Petrov and Klasnic go off and Mark Davies and Matty Taylor come on. Presumably Elmander will now play up front.
- 46': Cahill beats Jones to Delap's long-throw, at the expense of another.
- 47': The second delivery by Delap causes much more panic but Cahill finally gets the ball clear.
- 48': Muamba handles the ball and Stoke have a freekick.
- 49': Delap launches another bomb into the box. This one goes even further than his team-mates expected so Bolton can easily clear it.
- 50': The game just moved from a goalkick to a throw-in without the ball touching the ground once.
- 51': The ball is on the deck now but Lee fouls Delap and the play is broken up again. It's very stop start this match.
- 52': Hoof. Header. Freekick.
- 53': Hoof. Header. Freekick.
- 54': This time the hoof and header are followed by a cheeky back-heel from Lee but Stoke are back in numbers and read the danger.
- 55': Stat: Only three teams in the history of the FA Cup have scored three goals in a semi-final match and lost, Liverpool, Fulham and Everton.
- 56': Some slick play down the left for Stoke. Pennant leaves Taylor on his bum but his cross is just too far over the head of Jones. Great move though.
- 57': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Bolton needed a miracle in this second half, but they still look rather uninspired and Stoke are still playing with vigour. All over bar the shouting?
- 58': Kevin Davies heads clear from an Etherington corner. Walters hooks the ball back into the box for Jones, who forces Jussi to make a routine save.
- 59': Elmander gets caught in possession as he attempts to spark his team into life.
- 60': Etherington races at the Botlon defence. Steinsson backs off and Etherington cleverly ships the ball to Walters rather than than shooting but it is just a tad too heavy.
- 61': Davies nutmegs Huth and the Bolton fans have something to cheer.
- 62': Delap delivers another long throw. He chucks it from the half-way line into the box (no short distance at Wembley) but Walters can make nothing of it.
- 63': Etherington is receiving treatment on an injured knee.
- 64': Etherington looks like he twisted he knee as he tried to evade a tackle. His on his feet but off the pitch.
- 65': Pennant whips in freekick and Bolton are all at sixes and sevens. Jussi saves from Walters and then Jones shins an effort wide. It should have been 4-0 to Stoke.
- 66': Bolton are playing so badly that Petrov must be delighted he is off the pitch.
- 67': GOAL Walters picks up the ball in his own half, runs at the Bolton defence like a man possessed and then curls in a shot from the edge of the box.
- 68': Well that's surely that. A great goal from Walters but he ran from his own half without a tackle being made. HIS OWN HALF!
- 69': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: And the Bolton exodus begins. Another superbly taken taken goal surely takes Stoke to the first FA Cup final in their 148-year history.
- 70': Freekick in shooting range for Bolton...
- 71': ...Taylor takes the freekick and smashes it straight into the wall.
- 72': Taylor wins the ball from one of Bolton's hopeful punts into the box, collects it himself, turns and stings the hands of Sorensen with a good shot.
- 73': Bolton make their final change. Muamba is replaced by youngster Rodrigo.
- 74': Jones plays a pass behind Pennant, as he turns to get the ball Robinson hacks him down. Disgraceful!
- 75': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: A spiteful challenge from Robinson on Pennant, who has given him a torrid time today. Another sign that Bolton have been completely outplayed in every facet of the game.
- 76': Shawcross falls over in defence but even then Bolton can't get a lucky break as the ball runs through to Sorensen.
- 77': Stoke make a change. Pennant goes off to a standing ovation and on comes Whitehead. Robinson will breathe a sigh of relief.
- 78': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Jermaine Pennant is taken off after a thoroughly good day's work. The former Arsenal man may finally get his time to shine in an FA Cup final.
- 79': Etherington fires in a low cross. Jones races to try and get on the end of it but can't.
- 80': GOAL More sloppy defending from Bolton. Jones crossed from the left, Delap fell over the ball on the penalty spot and then Walters, at the far post, scuffed the ball over Jussi for Stoke's fifth goal.
- 81': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Incredible stuff. Bolton fans stream out as Stoke claim a fifth. Walters' goal is messier than the four that preceded it, but no one in Wembley cares. What a display.
- 82': If we have a quick collection from the Bolton fans we might be able to get enough to bribe the ref to end this early.
- 83': Stoke make another change. Kenwyne Jones limps off holding his hamstring and on comes Fuller.
- 84': Taylor whips in a corner. Davies wins the header at the back post but the ref blows up for a foul.
- 85': Cahill gets booked for taking out Fuller, who had him beat on the left flank.
- 86': Etherington will take the freekick. He chips a delivery to the back post and Knight heads it behind for a corner.
- 87': Etherington is taken off as he prepares to take the corner and on comes Danny Pugh.
- 87': ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Stoke fans display a keen sense of irony when chanting "it's just like watching Brazil", but what a performance from the Potters today. A standing ovation for Etherington takes the roof off Wembley.
- 88': Etherington is named man of the match but it could easily have gone to Pennant.
- 89': It will be interesting to see how Man City deal with Stoke's tricky wingers in the FA Cup final, given that they play a very narrow game under Roberto Mancini.
- 90': Fuller drives into the box from the left. He has three players waiting in the box but he goes for goal himself and hits the side netting.
- 91': Jussi catches a header from Huth but there are not many Bolton fans left in the stadium to see it.
- 92': That's it! The ref blows the final whistle and Stoke reach their first ever FA Cup final.
- 0': FT Bolton didn't show up today as Stoke totally dominated proceedings and could have won by more than 5-0.
- 0': FT ESPN's Tom Adams at Wembley Stadium: Jubiliation for Stoke - every single member of the team a hero after a quite remarkable result. Bolton are left to rue a total horror show., They just didn't turn up at all on the day.
- 0': FT Stoke can look forward to a date with Man City at Wembley and who would bet against them on this form?
- 0': FT As I said earlier, it will be interesting to see how Man City deal with Stoke's tricky wingers - Pennant and Etherington - in the FA Cup final, given that they play a very narrow game under Roberto Mancini.
