A-League Women News

Australian players are pushing for unprecedented A-Leagues salary cap exemptions this season as those left unemployed by the Western United saga rush to find new clubs.

It's been about a year since Canada was accused of cheating at the Olympics. With a new coach and lofty goals for the 2027 Women's World Cup, players are still trying to move on.

Western United will not play in the A-League in 2025-26 following a decision by league administrators the Australian Professional Leagues (APL) to place the crisis-stricken club's men's and women's sides into "hibernation".

Pride initiatives in sport are well intentioned but, with a string of anti-gay slurs dominating the headlines, the question needs to be asked: What's next?

The APL will kick on with preparations for the upcoming A-Leagues seasons with or without Western United, as the embattled club attempts to fight a wind-up order.
