Boston U, Chantell Alford run away to upset No. 17 St. John's

Boston snapped the four-game winning streak of the Red Storm (4-2), who struggled to keep pace. The Terriers took a 32-13 lead when Alford made a 3-pointer with 3:54 left in the first half.

Boston kept the momentum going in the second half, pushing its lead to 22 points on Agboola's layup with 12:50 left in the game. St. John's pulled no closer than 16 points the rest of the way.

Amber Thompson was the only St. John's player to score in double figures with 11 points.

St. John's was missing its starting backcourt. Eugeneia McPherson missed her first full game after suffering a season-ending ACL injury to her right knee against Hartford last Sunday. Point guard Nadirah McKenith dressed, but did not play because of back spasms.
