Jazmine Davis, Aminah Williams lead Washington past Oregon St.

The biggest moments came in the second half, when Jazmine Davis and Aminah Williams combined to hit 3-point shots on four straight possessions, giving Washington the first double-digit lead of the game, and the Huskies went on to beat No. 7 Oregon State 76-67 on Friday night.

Davis and Williams each made a pair of 3-pointers during the run, which put Washington up 59-47 with 12 minutes to play.

"I'm just happy everyone was ready to shoot the ball," Davis said. "There was no hesitation, and as a result of that, we were getting more 3s and making more 3s."

Davis led the Huskies with 21 points, and Williams added a career-high 20 as Washington (17-6, 6-5 Pac-12) snapped a two-game skid. The Huskies also beat a top-10 team at home for the second time this season, going along with their 70-49 win against then-No. 5 Texas A&M on Dec. 29.

"It'll hit us tomorrow how big of a deal it was," Washington coach Mike Neighbors said. "Right now it's just good we bounced back from a tough two-game road swing."

Jamie Weisner had 17 points and eight rebounds, Sydney Wiese scored 16 points, and Ruth Hamblin had 12 points and nine rebounds for Oregon State (20-2, 10-1). The Beavers' only other loss this season was at then-No. 8 Tennessee, 74-63 on Dec. 28.

"It's really big for us because they're the best team in the Pac-12," Williams said. "To beat a team that hasn't been beaten yet this season in the Pac-12 conference is huge for us."

Washington's 46.6 percent shooting overall was the best any team has done against Oregon State this season, and the Huskies did it while holding the Beavers to 37.3 percent.

"We were off our game a little bit on the offensive end," Oregon State coach Scott Rueck said. "And if they're going to score, then we've got to score."

Kelsey Plum, the Pac-12's leading scorer, had 17 points for the Huskies, although the Beavers' defense made her scoring chances tough to come by. Chantel Oshahor added a career-high 13 rebounds for Washington.

The game was back and forth in the first half, with both teams using runs to grab six-point leads before falling even again.

In the second half, the Huskies started to pull away, although after the Huskies' big 3-pointer-fueled run, Oregon State quickly countered with an 11-2 run of its own, aided by a technical foul on Osahor during a fight for a rebound.

The Huskies never gave up the lead, though, and again pushed ahead by double digits. Plum's step-back 3 with five minutes to play gave Washington a 71-60 lead.

"It's no fun to coach that game. Our margin of error against a top-10 team is very small," Neighbors said. "I will enjoy it tonight when I rewatch it."

TIP-INS

Oregon State: The loss snapped the Beavers' second 10-game winning streak of the season. Oregon State also started the season with 10 wins. The Beavers had an 11-game win streak last season. The school record is 14, set in 1982-83.

Washington: The Huskies have won their past three home games against top-10 teams. Last season Washington beat No. 3 Stanford 87-82. The Huskies' win against Texas A&M was their only other win in six games against ranked teams this season.

Plum was in the right spot to give the Huskies a 34-31 lead going into halftime. With the clock ticking down, Davis drove to the hoop but lost her footing. As she fell to the floor, she managed to pass back to Plum, who was all alone at the arc and nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
