Inman made a layup with 22 seconds left in regulation to tie it at 67-all. Wisconsin called time out, but they couldn't get off a final shot.
In overtime, Amber Jamison hit a long jumper with 55.5 seconds left for a 71-69 lead and she had a key block with four seconds left. Inman sealed it with two free throws.
Lyon, averaging 16.5 points per game, missed the first game of her career with a lower leg injury. It was only the third game in her career that she didn't start.
Ashley Deary added 16 points for Northwestern (16-15), which plays No. 5 seed Minnesota (19-10) on Thursday. Coffey, who fouled out with three minutes left in regulation, grabbed six rebounds to set a program single-season record with 306.
