Elon beats Northern Illinois 85-80 in 2OT

Seibring's jumper and 3-pointer bracketed a 9-2 run the Phoenix (4-1) used to pull ahead 79-72 with 2:28 left. NIU closed to within 83-78 on Aaric Armstead's two free throws, but Luke Eddy's free throw with 12 seconds left iced it for Elon.

Seibring finished with 15 points, Steven Santa Ana scored 20 points, making 5 of 12 3-pointers, and Brian Dawkins added 15 with three 3s.

Trailing 33-24 at halftime, Elon rallied to a 60-56 lead on Dawkins' 3-pointer, but Armstead's layup tied it at 62 to send the game into overtime.

Laytwan Porter's 3-pointer put NIU up 68-67 in OT, but Eddy replied with a 3 for a 70-68 lead. Armstead tied it at 70 with two free throws.

Armstead scored career highs with 24 points and 16 rebounds, Marin Maric scored 23 points with 10 boards and Jaylen Key had 15 points for NIU (3-3).
