Central Michigan postpones game after campus shooting

The game will be played at Northwood University in Midland, Michigan, 30 miles from the Central Michigan campus. The Mid-American Conference said the game will be closed to the public, with the exception of family members.

The game, scheduled to started at 11 a.m., is the regular-season finale for both schools. The conference tournament begins Monday.

"I'd like to thank Northwood University for making their facilities available to us," CMU athletics director Michael Alford said in a statement. "We had long discussions today about how best to ensure the game is played without getting in the way of events on our campus."

Police said a 19-year-old student was suspected of killing his parents at a dormitory and then running from campus. The shooting occurred around 8:30 a.m. and the campus was put on lockdown.
