Indiana started a 17-2 run late in the third quarter and led 74-59 at 6:13 of the fourth quarter when Maggie Lucas hit a 3-pointer.
Epiphanny Prince, who had 17 points, scored six as the Liberty (12-6) came right back with 10 straight but they only had three points in the last four minutes. Tina Charles led New York with 18 points.
The Fever, without Layshia Clarendon, who is day-to-day with a sore back, had a 32-27 rebounding advantage against the best rebounding team in the league.
