Tricia Liston helps No. 2 Duke demolish Alabama

During the game, the trio led a balanced offense to help No. 2 Duke rout Alabama 92-57 on Sunday.

Liston scored 20 points, Williams added 13 and Peters had 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Blue Devils (3-0), who posted the 400th win at Cameron Indoor Stadium in program history.

"It's one ball, it's our ball, and we've got to get it in the right place on every possession," Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said. "And the right place on every possession can be different according to the game. But there's no doubt that we're building depth. I have a lot of confidence in our scoring."

Richa Jackson added 15 points off the bench and Alexis Jones had 12 points to help Duke extend its home winning streak against unranked opponents to 124 games.

Duke opened the game with a 19-4 spurt and led 31-8 midway through the first half.

The Blue Devils made 12 of their first 16 shots from the floor and shot 52 percent for the game.

"I think we were moving the ball really well in the first half offensively," Williams said.

Khadijah Carter and Shafontaye Myers scored 13 points each to lead Alabama (0-3). Karyla Middlebrook added 11 points and Daisha Simmons had 10 points for the Crimson Tide.

Alabama played on the road for the third time in as many games, each contest coming against an NCAA tournament team from a year ago.

"We're a new staff with a new group," Alabama coach Kristy Curry said. "We're there to build it back. We're going to have some lumps and bumps. With us right now, it's about brick by brick and finding little joys in every day working as hard as we can to build it back."

Alabama turned over the ball on its first three possessions and had 15 of its 26 turnovers in the first half.

Liston sparked the Blue Devils early with hot shooting from the perimeter, staking her team to a 47-24 lead at halftime.

Liston made a 3-pointer on her team's second possession to give Duke a 5-0 lead, then added another 3-pointer two minutes later. She followed up with a jumper and a third 3-pointer, putting the Blue Devils ahead 24-8 with 12:45 left in the first half.

Duke misses were rare early, but Peters converted some of them into points. A game after grabbing a career-high 20 rebounds, she scored three times after offensive rebounds in the first half.

The Crimson Tide cut Duke's lead to 37-20 after a driving layup by Carter with 5:54 left in the first half, but they never got closer.

"I mean, obviously they're a Final Four team and picked to win their league and No. 2 in the country for a reason," Curry said. "We're not there yet, but we're working to get there."
